In 2021, Swire expanded into the renewable energy sector with investments in BladeInsight and the acquisition of ALL NRG.
BladeInsight, a Portugal-based technology company, provided the wind energy sector with autonomous drone robotic solutions for wind turbine blade inspections.
ALL NRG was a leading provider of manpower services and project solutions, including installation, commissioning and decommissioning support, blade inspections and repairs, and HV services, catering to energy markets across Europe and Asia.
Originally a division of Swire Energy Services, the company became a standalone operating entity in 2022 and rebranded as Swire Renewable Energy in 2023.
Swire Renewable Energy continued its growth by acquiring WPS Sweden in November 2023, establishing a regional business in the Nordic region. This was followed by the acquisitions of Altitec Blade Services and Obelisk Energy Services, significantly scaling SRE’s offerings, strengthening its presence in the UK, and expanding its regional footprint in Australia and Africa. In December 2024, SRE further reinforced its presence in the Nordic region by agreeing to acquire Rope Access Sweden.
