Procurement & Purchase Specialist, UK

We are looking to expand our Operations team with a new colleague to undertake a variety of assignments within procurement and purchasing. You will be part of the Operations department, and you will be placed in our HQ office in Lystrup, Denmark or our office in London. 

 

Areas of responsibility

To succeed in the role as our new Procurement & Purchase Specialist you will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing internal purchasing processes within our organization. As this is a new hybrid role in the organisation, you must expect a strategic role within procurement but also a very hands-on role with purchasing orders processing and training. We expect the role to have a split of 70 % time used for hands-on purchasing and 30 % of the time used for strategic procurement when entering the role. This split might change over time. 

You will be responsible for driving effective procurement processes in accordance with business projects, plans, and strategic direction, supporting both daily operations and enabling SRE’s scalability and growth.

On an operational level you will drive the implementation for purchasing processes applying purchase orders across the company and work with internal stakeholders, which requires you to know the purchasing process end-to-end and how this is processed in Navision, which is our current ERP system. 

Principal accountabilities: 

  • Lead the purchasing processes and train staff on order placements with our different suppliers in their systems and assist with different administrational task.
  • Manage requests and procurement of all materials and services required for our business. 
  • Invite tenders, compare prices, quotes and quality and procure goods in correct quantities. 
  • Negotiate rates and terms of business with suppliers and ensure a cost-effective procurement process. 
  • Liaise with suppliers on contracts, matters related to order placement and the procurement process, and build trusting relationships.
  • Support the building of market insight to identify trends in the wind industry and translate them into procurement strategy. 

 

The candidate

We are looking for a candidate with the following background: 

  • Relevant degree in Business, Purchasing Procurement or other relevant technical or academic background. 
  • Experience within purchasing and working within a purchasing module in preferably NAV or another ERP system.
  • Experience and knowledge of the purchasing process end-to-end.
  • Experience with training staff in purchasing module in ERP.
  • Prior experience with or motivation for driving the implementation of purchase orders across the business and work with various stakeholders.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organisational levels.
  • Fluent in English. 
  • It will be an advantage if you possess technical knowhow of wind turbine components as well as industry-specific requirements.

 

You are self-driven, have a problem-solving approach and is always able to find solutions to potential issues within tight deadlines. You have strong communication and negotiation skills, and you can with ease navigate with many different stakeholders. 

As a person you are proactive, used to take the lead and enjoy working both on a strategic level as well as a more operational and practical level. You thrive in a constantly changing and dynamic environment being agile and adaptable as things change.
